This sounds odd because HRT is not covered by insurance and is administered by a few doctors in urban areas, it is generally sought out by people who understand the importance of hormones in the balance of health, and these two points alone seem to point toward Urban use of HRT rather than Rural use of HRT.

Perhaps breast cancer is not associated with HRT but rather another factor? Perhaps your law suit winnings are based on old and incomplete information on the use of HRT.

Re: Greater reduction in HRT/breast cancer rates in urban, affluent towns

But still it's a matter of great concern.

Re: Wyeth developing another HRT for menopause

Thank you so much for your comment! They knew the assosiated health risks Premarin posed to women since it's inception way back in 1942!! Why should they be trusted regarding women's health with a new drug when they have knowingly exposed so many women to serious health risks, not to mention the horses used to collect the estrogen rich urine are so mis-treated and their babies are destined for slaughter for human consumption!!!

Re: Wyeth developing another HRT for menopause

Thank you so much for your comment! That's interesting information about
the PMU industry, and about your mother's experience NOT using HRT.
Thanks so much for sharing!

Re: Wyeth developing another HRT for menopause

Wow.....very sad. Did you all know that this drug is made from the PMU industry? (Pregnant Mare Urine) Wyeth is not letting that info be known!!
We can send a man to the moon but can't develop an effective drug without being cruel to thousands of mares?? I rescued one PMU filly 4 years ago and she is wonderful! As a nurse, all I can hope for is that women do their homework...My mother had a hysterectomy in her 40's refused HRT(good for her!) NOW in her 70's, is healthy as ever! Good diet and exercise! Imagine that........

Re: Menopause, heart attack symptoms sometimes can be similar

So it means that whenever any woman who is going through menopause, should not take all the symptoms lightly, as it can be symptoms of heart attack also. It appears that going into menopause already overweight leads to more hormonal imbalance and overheating. Here's an article that discusses more about weight gain in menopause (from the Women to Women clinic): http://www.womentowomen.com/nutritionandweightl...

Re: Wyeth developing another HRT for menopause

Breast Cancer is a curse on women. Another helpful article I've read this month is the "State of Our Breast Health" from Women to Women: http://www.womentowomen.com/breasthealth/stateo...
Very reassuring -- especially about finding a natural hormonal balance as a way to keep breasts healthy

Re: Acupuncture an alternative therapy for menopause

Oh yes, I am a big believer in acupuncture for menopause symptom relief! Try to find a medical acupuncturist -- it's an MD also certified in acupuncture and is usually covered by insurance (or at least mine was). For more on natural relief, see this article from Women to Women clinic in Maine: http://www.womentowomen.com/womenshealth/integr...
